Glass

Glass is sand transformed: melted, shaped and cooled into a material that is completely non-porous and chemically neutral. Nothing you drink from glass tastes of anything but itself. In drinkware it has no real substitute. In the SantHome range glass appears in drinking glasses, diffuser bottles and mirrors. It asks almost nothing in care and can be recycled endlessly without losing quality.

Care

Most everyday glassware takes the dishwasher; delicate pieces prefer a hand wash. Avoid pouring boiling liquid into a cold glass, and dry with a lint-free cloth for clarity.

Why did my glass crack when I poured hot water into it?

Thermal shock: a sudden jump from cold to hot expands the glass unevenly and can crack it. Warm a glass gently before adding boiling liquid to avoid this.

Can glassware go in the dishwasher?

Most everyday SantHome glassware can. Hand-blown or delicate pieces are better hand washed, since the dishwasher’s heat and movement are harder on thinner, uneven glass.
