Soy wax is pressed from soybean oil and hardened, a plant wax rather than a petroleum by-product like paraffin. It melts at a lower temperature, which means a larger melt pool at a gentler heat and a scent that carries without being cooked. Soy wax burns more slowly than paraffin, so a candle of the same 155 g lasts longer, and it releases no black soot to mark a jar or a ceiling.
