How to care

PLA is a plant-based composite, printed rather than moulded, and it behaves differently from ordinary plastic in one way that matters: it softens with heat. Everything below follows from that.

Care steps

  1. Dust with a dry cloth regularly, the ridged surface collects dust more than a smooth one.
  2. Wipe marks with a cloth and mild soapy water, then dry at once.
  3. Fit an LED bulb only: PLA softens above roughly 60°C and a hot bulb sits close to the material.
  4. Keep the piece indoors and out of direct sun, which raises surface temperature.
  5. Never wash in a dishwasher or with solvents.

Do

dust dry, wipe with mild soap, fit an LED bulb in the E27 socket, keep the piece indoors.

Do not

put it in a dishwasher, use solvents or scouring pads, leave it in direct sun, or fit a bulb that runs hot.
