Caring for Polyester Textiles

Polyester is chosen where colour retention, fast drying and resilience matter. It appears across SantHome cushion covers, throws, bathrobes, hammocks and table textiles, sometimes blended with natural fibres. Water resistance does not mean waterproof, and UV resistance does not mean immune to sun. Protection between uses still extends the life of the fabric.

  • Wash at a low temperature
  • Do not bleach
  • Tumble dry low
  • Store completely dry

Always follow the care label, product page and instructions supplied by the maker. Where these differ from this general guide, the product-specific instructions take precedence.

Washing

  • Check the care label before removing or machine washing any cover.
  • Use mild detergent and the lowest effective temperature allowed by the label.
  • Wash removable covers separately and close zips before laundering.

Spills and stains

  • Brush or vacuum away loose dust before it settles into the weave.
  • Blot spills promptly with a clean absorbent cloth; do not scrub them deeper into the fabric.
  • For fixed upholstery, spot clean only where the product instructions permit it and test a hidden area first.

Drying and storage

  • Dry outdoor cushions on edge with airflow reaching both sides.
  • Bring textiles under cover during prolonged rain and store indoors out of season.

Avoid

  • Avoid chlorine bleach, high dryer heat and strong solvent-based stain removers.
  • Do not pressure wash unless the product is specifically approved for it.
  • Do not fold, cover or store polyester while damp.
  • Avoid unnecessary months of intense direct sun when the item is not being used.
