Linen

Linen is woven from the fibres of the flax plant, one of the oldest cultivated textiles in Europe and still one of the best suited to warm climates. In the SantHome range it appears in table linen, bedding and towels. Its character is the point. Linen conducts heat away from the body, dries quickly, and carries a natural texture that does not ask to be ironed flat. It starts crisp and relaxes into softness with every wash. Well-kept linen is passed down more often than it is replaced.

Care

Why does linen wrinkle so easily?

Flax fibre is stiffer than cotton and holds a crease readily, the same structural rigidity that gives linen its texture and strength. It softens with wear rather than staying sharp.

Do I need to iron linen sheets?

No. Iron damp for a crisp, formal finish, or leave sheets unironed for the relaxed, textured look linen is chosen for. Both are correct, it depends on the look wanted.
